Hi, my name is Grant, I am a Creative Writing and English Literature student in my third year at Bath Spa University. I am a keen fiction writer and journalist, although I am still learning the ropes. Hopefully through this blog I will be able to get some writing practice and get some feedback for my reviews and other work.
My main ambition is to become a music journalist or freelance feature writer. Since I was 10 years old I have been an avid reader of Kerrang! magazine, and have always enjoyed their reviews of gigs, albums and upcoming bands. What could be better then getting paid to listen to the music of your favourite bands? At University I have been able to branch my writing skills and improve in general as a writer, and I believe that the next stage in my development is to get my work out into the World. I am also an enthusiatic fiction writer and specialise in character pieces and science fiction.
Over the last year I have been contributing freelance reviews to up-and-coming music website Dead Press, which has proved infinitely helpful to me. Through writing these reviews I have had the opportunity to improve my writing ability and build on the skills I will need to one day make it as a paid writer.
